NHS Eye Examination
This appointment is for an NHS Eye Examination and will take between 30 and 45 minutes. Please be aware that if you are over 60 years old, your Optometrist may use drops to dilate your pupils. It is advised that you don't drive following this. Everyone in Scotland is entitled to an NHS funded eye examination every 2 years. If you're unsure if you're entitled to one please call the practice on 01592 751460.

Enhanced Eye Examination
Enhanced Eye Examination – £50
Our Enhanced Eye Examination includes advanced imaging with OCT and Optomap, in addition to the standard NHS eye test.
-
OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography): Provides a 3D scan of the retina and optic nerve, helping detect eye conditions early.
-
Optomap Imaging: Captures a 200° view of the retina (compared to 45° with standard NHS tests), offering a more comprehensive assessment.
These tools allow your Optometrist to detect issues sooner and with greater accuracy.
Please note: If you're over 60, pupil-dilating drops may be used during your exam.
